Adam Thielen’s foundation to provide grant for new Humboldt fitness center

The Thielen Foundation, headed up by Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen, took a keen interest in the Harding-Humboldt football co-op that formed last year in St. Paul. The foundation reached out to head coach Otto Kraus, now the athletic director at Harding, because it knew of the increased costs that come with forming a new co-op, from uniforms to equipment.

After they arrived for summer practices and first saw their weight room upgraded with new equipment, the athletes at Brooklyn Center High School mostly assumed the free weights and kettlebells in the room had arrived because of funding in the school’s budget.
As they found out Tuesday, that wasn’t exactly the case.

Adam Thielen, Harrison Smith, Kyle Rudolph and Anthony Harris participated in a celebrity softball game Monday night at CHS Field, home of the St. Paul Saints. Proceeds from ticket sales benefited The Thielen Foundation, which Adam and his wife, Caitlin, started in 2018.
